CAP Program Goal:
Increase the number of those who are employed in the construction workforce and to help contractor’s and emerging developers to increase their capacity for larger contracts and projects.
This program is linked directly to the Statewide Housing Plan and the Governor’s urgent call to expand and enhance Michigan’s housing stock by training the necessary workforce.
CAP will prepare hundreds of builders to take and eventually pass the Residential Builder’s License Exam and provide them with additional training on Fair Housing and Accessible/Adaptable Housing.
Cap will introduce scores of future contractors and developers to existing contractors and developers with the possibility of partnering on future projects.
CAP will aid the Governor in assisting Geographically Disadvantaged Business Enterprises by intensively marketing the program in Qualified Census
About HERCO LLC
HERCO is a WBE/MBE/DBE (Woman-owned Business Enterprise, Minority Business Enterprise and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) along with hosting a Department of Labor Certified Apprenticeship Program. HERCO has provided construction services, job placement and construction training for over 20 years.

At Detroit Training Center, our mission is to provide adults with the knowledge, tools, and skills needed to add value to their communities, families, and themselves. DTC administration and faculty members will put forth our best efforts to uphold this mission to prepare adults for employment through customized vocational training focusing on Construction, Transportation, and Manufacturing. We host Heavy Equipment Operating, Welding, Drywall Finishing, Blight Removal, Residential Renovation, CDL A and CDL B programs in addition to over 65 classes. At DTC, Every Day Is Training Day!
